Founded in 1991 by Justin Berkmann, Ministry of Sound was born from a life-changing trip to New York, where Justin experienced the raw, community-driven energy of Paradise Garage.

Inspired by its uncompromising focus on sound, inclusivity and the power of the dancefloor, he returned to London with a singular vision: to build a club where music and sound come first.

That ethos remains at the core of Ministry of Sound today.

Home to four rooms, the venue is proudly multi-genre – offering everything from house, techno, bass and melodic to grime, afrobeats and beyond. Every night is programmed with intention, allowing different scenes, sounds and communities to coexist under one roof.

Ministry of Sound has always championed an egalitarian approach to the dancefloor. No hierarchies, just shared energy, world-class sound and a belief that everyone is welcome through our doors. This philosophy underpins our long-standing curator programme, supporting both established names and emerging talent, and ensuring the club remains culturally relevant, forward-thinking and rooted in the underground.
