Few immersive productions can claim to be true London originals. Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Experience can.
A genuine gem in London’s experience landscape, it has become one of the capital’s standout immersive attractions: a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title holder, winner of 15 major awards, with more than 300,000 visitors since 2019, over 6,000 five-star reviews, and Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice 2025 recognition for the fifth consecutive year, placing it in the top 10% of attractions worldwide.
It also happens to be the UK’s longest-running theatrical and multi-media immersive experience.
At London Experience Week 2026, audiences will get the chance to hear how that success has been built — and how it is evolving — in Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Experience: The Past, Present and Future, a fireside chat with Mike Goldsmith, Head of Content, interviewing Jeff Wayne.
London Experience Week positions itself as a gathering for experience leaders, with an accompanying Experience Safari built around behind-the-scenes tours, studio visits and special events across London’s most ambitious projects.
The timing could not be better. The experience entered a major new phase on 12 March 2026, with a relaunch that builds on its long-running success while introducing substantial new elements. Announced changes include Jeff Wayne appearing digitally within the experience, rebuilt VR for major sequences using Unreal Engine, upgraded audio and visual effects, new HTC Vive Focus Vision headsets, a refreshed Engineer’s Lab, a new “Martian Invasion” museum installation, and the addition of The Spirit of Man remix in the Red Weed Bar.

That makes this session more than a retrospective. It is a chance to hear directly from Jeff Wayne about how a landmark experience stays relevant: how it listens, reinvents and invests in its future without losing what made it special in the first place. This is about honouring the legacy while embracing the future of immersive entertainment.
“This is the ultimate ‘show, not tell’ moment,” said WXO Head of Content, Mike Goldsmith. “You can hear Jeff Wayne talk about the creative thinking, the evolution and the new changes coming to the experience – and then go and see it all in real life for yourself. That is a rare opportunity, and exactly what London Experience Week does best.”

That is especially true for LXW26 ticketholders. As part of London Experience Week, attendees will also be able to take part in a full behind-the-scenes tour at Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Experience, giving them the chance to see the changes Jeff discusses for themselves.
There will also be exclusive ticket offers for LXW26 attendees, adding even more value for delegates wanting to experience this London favourite firsthand. The wider LXW Experience Safari is explicitly framed around access to creative teams, digging into the thinking and craft behind London’s leading experiences, making this package a strong fit for the week’s broader programme.
For anyone interested in how standout experiences are built, sustained and reinvented, this promises to be one of the standout sessions of LXW26.
